See How the Toyota 4Runner Compares to Outdoor SUVs in Conroe

The Toyota 4Runner is a popular crossover, due to its versatility, spaciousness, and stellar performance on any terrain. This SUV comes available in a variety of configurations, allowing shoppers to choose the right features they need to suit their adventures, as well as the amount of seats they need for passengers. However, as capable as the 4Runner is, it does not stand alone in its class and has a couple well-known challengers. Let us see how our Toyota SUV compares against its top rivals in this class: the Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco.

You will find the Toyota 4Runner for sale here at Gullo Toyota of Conroe.

Toyota 4Runner vs Jeep Wrangler

  • Cargo: With its base five-seat model, the 4Runner offers a maximum cargo volume of up to 89.7 cubic feet, which is improved greatly, thanks to the available slide-out floor feature. The Jeep Wrangler offers a total cargo volume of up to 72.4 cubic feet with its rear seats folded in.
  • Configurations: Shoppers can enjoy the 4Runner as a five-seat SUV or a seven-seat SUV, depending on how big your carpool is. The Jeep Wrangler offers the iconic open-air experience, but is only available as a five-seat model.
  • Safety: The 4Runner comes standard with both driver and front passenger knee airbags, as well as Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, thanks to Toyota Safety Sense. The Jeep Wrangler does not feature knee airbags at all and many of its comparable high-tech driver-assist features are absent from base trim levels.
  • Fuel Efficiency: While both of these SUVs offer a robust standard V6 performance, the 4Runner is the more fuel efficient SUV over the long-term as its fuel tank holds up to 23 gallons of unleaded fuel. The Jeep Wrangler's fuel tank holds up to 17.5 gallons of fuel.
  • Convenience: The Toyota 4Runner comes standard with such conveniences as one-touch power-sliding rear windows, a power-adjustable front driver's seat, and an available eight-inch color 3D navigation system. All of these features are only available on higher, more expensive trims of the Jeep Wrangler.

Toyota 4Runner vs Ford Bronco

  • Interior: Even as a five-seat SUV, the 4Runner is the more spacious option with up to 56.5 inches of hip room up front and 55.7 inches of rear hip room, as well as 57.8 inches of front and rear shoulder room. The Ford Bronco contains up to 55.9 inches of front hip room, 54.8 inches of rear hip room, 57.1 inches of front shoulder room and 56.5 inches of rear shoulder room.
  • Configurations: Like the Jeep Wrangler, the Ford Bronco only comes available as a five seat SUV, whereas, the 4Runner can be enjoyed as a five or seven-seater.
  • Safety: The Ford Bronco similarly does not offer extra protection with front knee airbags, which is a standard safety feature of the 4Runner. While the Bronco does have comparable features to the Lane Departure Warning and Radar Cruise Control features of Toyota, Ford's versions of these technologies only come available on higher-priced Bronco trims.
  • Benefits: Drivers who choose the 4Runner, or any new Toyota, get to enjoy two-years or 25,000 miles (whichever comes first) of no-cost maintenance. This is an ownership benefit exclusive to Toyota, with no equivalents on the Jeep Wrangler or the Ford Bronco.
  • Convenience: The entry-level Bronco trim does not offer intermittent rear windshield wiper settings, a power-adjustable front seat, or one-touch power-sliding front and rear windows. On the 4Runner, all of these convenience features come standard.
