The Toyota RAV4 VS The Ford Escape

Like many other drivers you want to get the most bang for your buck. Which is why comparing similar vehicles is simply the best way to decide which model is best for you. Luckily we have done the hard work for you and compared the Ford Escape to the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4. This way you only have to come down to Gullo Toyota of Conroe for a test drive.

  • Powertrain: No matter where the road may take you, you want to enjoy the drive while making the most of each tank of gas. Right out of the gate the 2019 RAV4 is off to a commanding lead with a more powerful and efficient 2.5L four-cylinder engine under the hood with 203 horsepower and gets an impressive 35 highway mpg. The Ford Escape has three available powertrain options that aren't nearly as efficient. Only one engine of the Ford Escape has slightly more horsepower than the RAV4. But it is exclusively available on the most expensive model. The 2019 RAV4 also features Multi-terrain Select on all-wheel-drive models to help you tackle the road less traveled by tailoring performance to match conditions. The Ford Escape is only available with all-wheel-drive.
  • Safety: When it comes to safety the RAV4 had set the bar high and the 2019 RAV4 is raising it once again with the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense; which has some new features. In addition to Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Toyota Safety Sense now includes Road Sign Assist and Lane Tracing Assist. The Ford Escape is available with some of the same features as part of an additional package on select models. The only standard safety feature of the Ford Escape is SOS post-crash alert.
  • Interior Space: Both the RAV4 and Escape are compact SUVs, which means interior space matters and the 2019 RAV4 edges out the Escape. The Ford Escape has a total passenger space of 98.7 cubic feet with 34 cubic feet of cargo space. With the seats folded flat, the Escape has 68 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The RAV4 has slightly more passenger space with 98.9 cubic feet of seating for five. The RAV4 has more cargo space than the Escape with 37.6 cubic feet of cargo room with the seats up and 69.8 when folded flat.
