Redesigned and Ready for Adventure: Welcome the 2020 Toyota Highlander to Conroe

You probably heard of the Toyota Highlander by now, but you might not recognize it this year as the 2020 Toyota Highlander comes fully redesigned and currently awaits here at Gullo Toyota in Conroe, TX. Much like the Toyota RAV4 before it, the design of the latest Highlander looks a bit more polished and reminiscent of the Toyota Tacoma, complete with a new grille and sloped headlights. Let us tell you a bit about what the all-new Toyota Highlander has to offer, you can decide if this midsize crossover fits best. Shoppers can find the 2020 Toyota Highlander in our new Toyota SUV inventory here at Gullo Toyota, on I-45 S in Conroe, TX.

Through its recent redesign, the latest Subaru Ascent now offers an expanded cargo bay area, even behind its third row. The Ascent features 16 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, but fold in the back seats and you free up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row and 84.3 cubic feet in total, behind the front seats. No matter which row you sit in, you will also find a plethora of available headroom and legroom, thanks to 139.1 cubic feet of passenger volume.

Toyota Highlander Interior Space, Dashboard & Apple CarPlay

The inside of the Toyota Highlander can seat up to eight passengers with standard fabric-trimmed seating. Other trims offer SofTex® stain-fighting fabric or leather-trimmed seating for passengers to enjoy.

If you have camping trips or other outdoor getaways in mind, then you will appreciate the versatility the Toyota Highlander offers through its engine and drivetrains. All trims come standard with a 3.5-liter, 295 horsepower Atkinson-Cycle eV6 engine, complete with direct injection and the Stop & Start Engine System (S&S). This engine enables the Toyota Highlander to tow up to 5,000 lbs. yet, despite this robust power, the V6 engine remains quiet at highway speeds and curbs emissions greatly over other SUVs like it. The 2020 Toyota Highlander carries a classification as a level III Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-III) by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Toyota Highlander comes standard with front-wheel drive, which offers formidable traction for everyday commuting in Texas. However, should you wish to enjoy the utmost traction for the rockier roads ahead, you might enjoy its available all-wheel drive (AWD) system which comes available with Dynamic Torque Vectoring to boost power to the wheels on aggressive terrain.

Toyota always aims to improve and innovate on its most important features including safety technologies. The Highlander comes reinforced with a steel unibody frame and a variety of strategically placed airbags to minimize the chances of injury from unforeseen collisions. However, the Toyota brand goes a step further and provides a number of driver-assist features through Toyota Safety Sense™. While the last Highlander offered this suite of high-tech crash-prevention features, the new Highlander offers Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 (TSS 2.0), adding on a few new features in addition to the standard TSS-P features of the previous edition. TSS 2.0 features include:

  • Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/ PD)
  • Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/ SA)
  • Lane Tracing Assist (LTA)
  • Automatic High Beams (AHB)
  • Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)
